We have different programmes for you!

Are you a veterinary student passionate about making the profession more inclusive and accessible? A veterinarian who wants to give back to the profession? Or a veterinarian eager to inspire the next generation?

Join the Vet for a Day programme as a Role Model and help youths discover what being a vet is really like.

What is a ‘Vet for a Day’ Role Model?

‘Vet for a Day’ Role Models are passionate veterinary professionals who open a window into their world. By sharing your time, your story, and your experiences, you’ll help pupils understand what it truly means to work in veterinary medicine.

What you'll do

As a Role Model, you might:

  • Host a student in your work for a limited amount of time, for instance half-day or full-day visit (observational, not clinical).
  • Offer virtual Q&As or recorded interviews for pupils who can’t attend in person.
  • Support pupils from underrepresented backgrounds in seeing themselves in this career.
  • You will be listed on our website with your expertise, location, availability, and contact info. Pupils are free to reach out to you, ask questions or plan a meeting (in person for observation or online for Q&A session).

Why become a Role Model?

  • Make an impact: be the reason a young person decides to pursue veterinary medicine.
  • Promote diversity and access: help pupils from all backgrounds see that this career is possible for them.
  • Support your profession: share the realities, challenges, and joys of the job to build a better-informed future generation.
